One of my friends in Nottingham is tapping me up to drive him to the church on his wedding day in a TVR.

It got me thinking, who else has done this and

WHAT IS THE BEST TVR FOR A WEDDING DAY?

I lent mine to a mate for his wedding day.

It was sunny right until they came out of the registry office and it started raining. I then had to run over and deal with the roof whilst the bride was crossing the road to get to the car!

Would have been lovely if it had stayed sunny though.

Matt.

There was a loverly pearlescent white TVR (Tamora I think) that drove into Racing Green on their open day. Had a pink sheen to it - I know it doesn't sound much, but in the flesh it looked good!

Otherwise:

Isn't she loverly...

...my car?

(PS Not my wedding!)

I borrowed my mate's 400SE to turn up in when I got married in 2000. The plan was for my best man to drive me to the ceremnoy, but I was enjoying myself too much...
Then the wife and I posed around in it for the weekend before we flew off on 'honeymoon' (bah humbug).
We've since split up..... but the experience made me rush out and buy a 390SE as soon as we got home..

I'm getting married in May - and it will be very much a TVR wedding with around 10 cars in attendance. Best man and I will go to church in the Tuscan. Then my wife (first time I have ever written that - woh!) and I will leave church together in it - hopefully with a nice TVR convoy behind. Crystal Topaz paint work has (how sad are we) suggested the colour scheme for flowers etc for my attire and the flowers!!!!!! It'll be done up properly with white ribbons too!

Cool.

Unfortunately when the wife and I got married it was after I'd started the business and before I'd made any money! Drove off in her company Cavalier! At least it was the V6!

Seriously: The best TVR for a wedding? Depends it its to drive away (gotta be one of the convertibles) or to arrive (Cerbera - most "limo" like thing TVR make).

Frankly any TVR is pretty damn good - and your Tuscan will be marvellous I'm sure.

My congratulations to you, sir.

Thanks mate ! I am almost tempted to post the time and location to see how may Trevs we can get on the day - but the 'wife' may object to her big day becoming PistonHeads meet #5 etc!

James, I would say that a convertable is a must!!! and also the sound of a V8. I also think that the chimaera is the best looking TVR to fit this descrption!!! Perfect!, There is a white one near Melton you probably know, could maybe loan it???

A few years back I had a 400SE. I was best man for my mate, and was supposed to take him to the church in the Tiv. After 2 or 3 years of trouble free motoring it broke down the day before the wedding, so we had to use his Pug 306 diesel instead !!

Good choice, the slower Chimaera would suit better than a Griffith .......

Richard

I know exactly the one that you mean - I sold it to him, big wheels on it too, It was Snowberry White.

It actually looks fantastic and was one of the nicest ones I have seen. Yes I think a Speed 12 with full rollcage might be out of the question unless Ben from TVR begs me to borrow it for the weekend.

I think I could sneak out to the local airfield (for the wedding shots obviously)

My brother-in-law turned up at my cousin's wedding in his bright pink Griff 500! It even outshone Leo Sayer's hair style, as he was a guest as well.
