My car is going into the sprayshop for a front end respray and to get the alloys repainted. Tempted to get them done black, does anyone have a picture of the standard 996TT alloys on a silver car?

thanks

DAZ........don't do it!!
Put the cash towards a nice sports exhaust to make it even faster!!!
You didn't plump for a 997GT3 then?

Thanks JB. Think I'll get them done silver again. Think maybe on silver cars, the balck alloys only work when the windows are heavily tinted.

Front end respray now booked in for the monday after VMAX.

(Not buying a GT3, I was at Thruxton as a guest)

Glad you didn't go black wheels!
just as a matter of interest, how much is a front PU respray these days?

I've got a few other chips and stuff being done as well as the wheels. Think a front end respray is noramlly about £1k if you go to one of the porsche approved bodyshops.

I've just a had a piccy emailed to me of a 996TT with black alloys. Didn't quite look how I expected it to. Probably looks better with cars fitted with bigger spoiler kits (RUF, GT£, GT2 and or carbon fibre bits on the bodywork). Hmmmm.

Thanks for everyones help.

cheers

Any chance of posting up the pic. Daz? I shouldn't imagine the car would look too different to Rods car surely, which looks the dogs IMHO.

I went down the same route Daz , thought about graphite/black colouring for the original tt wheels , then I acquired these GT3 style Turbo wheels which I think are splendid !!

Darren,

Don't do it - get the ECU remapped and unleash hell from your X50 instead :-)

I'll be taking mine to 490 bhp next month, yummy.
