As you all know, my car's colour is not the most striking (although i kind of like it like that) and I just wondered whether it would look right if I added some Cobra style stripes.

Anyone seen a Chim with these stripes on? How do you reckon it would look?

Dont Do It Alan.
Try some different wheels.

Alan, No please dont viper stripe it. The red with the silver is lovely, as Rob said, maybe try some wheels, or 5 stud spider conversion. Or just hide it away for a month and dont look at. Next time you open the garage door, you will think "thats nice"

Re-spray it pink.

That'll give you notice on the roads!

Yeah. Just go back to your home-town and get some 19 inch spinners off some "scally" in a pub.

Haven't seen your car in the flesh yet but it looks like a great colour combo of paint and leather from your profile pic.

Stripes MAY be ok for a laugh over a one off weekend like Le Mans but only MAY be..... For the rest of the time I'd leave well alone - if it aint broke don't fix it!

However if you decide to change your 4 stud wheels I know of an S Series that they'd look great on

See Barryboys.co.uk for helpful ideas on how to make your car stand out from the crowd. The shed of the week section is very useful.

Couldn't resist this.

I just found this dictionary definition of Chimaera:

CHIMAERA [chimaera] , cartilaginous marine fish, related to the sharks. Also called ratfishes, chimaeras are found in temperate oceans throughout the world, mostly in deep water. They have large heads, long, thin, ratlike tails, and large, fanlike pectoral fins. In many species there is a poison spine in front of the first dorsal fin. Their slippery skins are black, gray, or silver, often with stripes or spots. The largest reach a length of about 6 1/2 ft (2 m). Chimaeras resemble sharks in certain fundamental respects: They have cartilage skeletons, males have claspers for internal fertilization of females, and females lay eggs encased in leathery cases. However, they resemble the bony fishes in having the upper jaw fused to the skull, the gill slits opening into a single chamber, a bony covering, or operculum, over the gill slits, and separate anal and urogenital openings. A distinctive feature of chimaeras is the presence of extra claspers in the male, one in front of each pelvic fin and a prominent one on the forehead. The function of these appendages is not known, but they are thought to play a role in courtship. Chimaeras form the subclass Holocephali of the phylum Chordata , subphylum Vertebrata, class Chondrichthyes. (source: www.encyclopedia.com/html/c/chimaera.asp)

It looks like my car is destined for stripes.

Now, where can I get a copy of photoshop and the skills to use it, so i can mock it up first?
