GranSport vs 3200GT
Discussion
There is no contest, and a bigger price jump than that! Everyone that I have spoke too (in the maser club, dealers etc.) say the GS is the car the others (32+42)should have been. This is all from a drivers piont of view ofcourse. It even nearly tempted me out of my cup. But I couldn't deal with the depreciation and the fact it is closer too 2 tons than not.
I have driven both, and owned my 32 for a good while now. I thought it may have been time to go newer ........
that is until I tried a GS. Yes a GS is more refined and Yes from a common sense statistical analysis on paper it should be a better drive, however, it all depends on what you are looking for from it. A GS doesn't have the raw edginess of a 32, the go button isn't as brutal in an "off/on" kind of way. The ride isn't as jarring as a 32 in sport mode, and I still prefer the original design to the, admittedly fettled, Americanised car that the GS is.
So....... as I said, it all depends on what you want the car for. The 42 is a queensbury rules boxer, the 32 is a member of the fight club. Both hard as nails but different.
