Seriously considering one of these as my next car, however info is thin on the ground.

I've read somewhere that this version has 20bhp more and thus performs much better. Is this right?

Is the extra wonga for a GT4 worth it? Or is the cheaper GT-spec a better bet? Bearing in mind that i'd be going the twin-turbo route?

It has +20bp, but that was vs. the contemporary models. The new 350Z has teh same output.

Handling is the same, the differences are cosmetic and of course, it's a limited edition.

I bought a GT4 just over a month ago. Get one

On more informative note...

Engine upgraded to 296 bhp (300ps) via new internals (ie, not just an ECU tweak)
5 spoke Rays alloys - watch out for blistering; mine are being replaced under warranty
Full GT pack goodies: leather, voice controlled phone kit (but not necessarily the cradle!), cruise control, climate control (may be standard anyhow), Bose stereo.
Playstation 2 plus GT4 game in the boot Previous owner kept mine
Limited edition plaque

Performance wise the improvement over the standard model is subtle, mostly noticable mid-range where it feels a bit livelier. However, if you're planning on going the TT route then you're probably better sticking with a normal GT spec car; once you stick the blowers on you won't notice the difference

Also - although I have one in Black (pics in my profile), I'm starting to think the yellow ones are even better - they look absolutely stunning.

I was planning on getting one early next year, but i am tempted to get one straightaway. I agree with you re the yellow GT4 (and there's a gorgeous one for sale on this site).

Sorry for rehashing.

GT4's and the 2006 cars have the same power. GT4's came in two colours, 100 Black and 76 Ultra Yellow. I have to admit that the UY in the flesh is simply amazing, a colour I would have gone for had it been made available to later cars.

I would also suggest that if anyone is thinking of getting a Z to also strongly think about getting the Nismo extras for it, not only does it look good but also handles better than the stock car (as witnessed by the principle instructor for Cat Driver Training recently).
