Dear All,

I am looking at getting a 360 F1 within the next week or so and have narrowed the choice to two cars.

One is a 2000 with 25k miles with a Ferrari Power Warranty and one is the same year and price but has 15K miles without a warranty....

I have looked through past comments on the PH site and will inevitably get a Power warranty or similar? I spoke with a Main Dealer who advised that it would be possible to put a warranty on the latter car, but it would have to go through an inspection and everything would have to be 100% before be allowed to "qualify".

Has anyone else gone down this road? I just get the impression that there is no way they will approve a car 100% however good it is. I don't think it’s in their nature! PLUS when the warranty runs out the car has to be inspected again before renewal, but this is not such a detailed inspection, apparently.

Do the specialists have a particular warranty company they use?

Bloody warranty issues again!!

Thanks
Rob

PS. Anyone wanting my car will get it for a steal if they can buy within a week as I am currently trading it.

I think a car has to have Full Ferrari service history to be eligible for a Power warranty... Does the non-warranty car have this?

Speak to Dion (www.elmscollection.co.uk) regarding warranty and trade in... He may be able to help...

Be careful with FFSH claims, because, even if it has it, if the dates of any services are outside certain time limits from the due date (IIRC it was something like half a year) then you will not be able to add on the warranty. Check the warranty out yourself, call the dealers who did the work and confirm.

Offer to buy the car on the premise that it passes and obtains the power warranty.

Go on condition not mileage imo, so many of these cars are clocked it's ridiculous. Why do such people buy one if they can't afford to put the miles on?

Funny thing is, everyone wants to have a low miler, and those are usually the most problematic. If you find yourself a low miler that works properly, then... it's probably been clocked.. only joking!

If neither of these two cars fit the bill, I'd seriously recommend speaking to Dion of Elms Collection.

Interesting. I have to say that I agree with buying the right car rather than concentrating on mileage, but it really irritates me when coming to sell - everyone looks for an excuse. Private buyers often being the worst, so I like the idea of trying to remove as many "excuses" as possible!

Dion's got a following!

Rob

After my personal experience with Ferrari main dealers i would only buy
a ferrari older than three years from them with a ppi from an independent.
I bought a testa from Graypaul with a ferrari formula warranty. The car needed
remedial work of £15 k spent on which was not all covered by the warranty. After a
lot of huffing and puffing Graypaul fixed the additional items as a 'goodwill'
gesture and of course with the help of the sale of goods act.I would have
preferred to have had a car that had been properly inspected prior to sale that
didnt need me to claim off the warranty company and not have use of the car for three months.
The two ferraris i have bought since have both been thoughly inspected by Verdi's
with the option of a AON warranty which i did not bother to take out. Both cars
have both been faultless.

All under warranty? What age is the car?
