Expect Jos Verstappen back in F1 soon

A Dutch consortium look like they are buying Midland F1 from Alex Shnaider, possibly even this week.
Our spies tell us that the sale of Midland F1 to a Dutch consortium could go ahead this week - with the new owners possibly even being in control by the Turkish Grand Prix. An offer has been on the table for some months and all the necessary due diligence was done a while ago and since then it has simply been a question of convincing team owner Alex Shnaider that he can live without being an F1 team owner.
It remains to be seen if the sale will go ahead this time and whether that will have any major effects on the team management, the obvious question mark being over the future of chief executive Colin Kolles.
Well that's what normally happens when Dutch money comes into F1

Why did Shnaider buy Jordan? He seems to have been considering selling the team for almost as long as he's onwed it.
Because he got it at a resonable price and saw an opportunity to make a decent profit. He's a businessman.
I have no problem in people making money but IMO, F1 desperately needs individuals with more depth than this.
The Lost Boys consortium?..Due diligence phase completed then?...they offered him something like US$100m for a team that he bought for circa US$40m....can't be a bad deal can it?....
Yes, I can see Verstappen back in and perhaps Albers holding onto his drive now. But how competitive can they be? I've seen the car race and practice and it's far more stable than the latter Jordans that begat it, but still not pacey enough even with the Toyota engine in the back.
I did think that Midland had come up with some interesting aero approaches though - their appendages effectively created a "fence" along the side of the car, which I guess channel air more effectively to the rear wing.

On another forum Verstapen is known as Grindbak, which is Dutch for Gravel Trap!
Ah, that old chestnut. Back in the late '90s one of the slot car manufacturers released a 1:32 scale model of the Stewart-Ford. A slot racing shop here sold the Verstappen version with 'free (1:32 scale of course) gravel'!
