Only 30 meg more to upload and you can have some in-car from yesterday for the archives

The track changes are progressing well and will be all done next week. The esses on the old track are gone - straight down to the sweeper now. The new section joining the new track with the old will be sealed next week. There will be a slight ridge/ drop in the old track where it crosses the new section but they reackon it will "hardly be noticable' and 'won't upset the car". I.ll post some piccies when my camera gets home

Photos of the realignment work............

Off turn 8, you will now sweep left about where the digger is and cross the old track between the truck and the road roller on the right of the picture joining the old track at turn 11 and straight through to turn 14

The new section joining the new and old tracks - crossing the old track/ run into the hairpin behind the yellow truck and joining the old infield by the white truck

The 'new' ess-less old track

Looking back up the old pit lane towards Track1

I think the Elises will find track 3 pretty boring now, so maybe the Lotus sprints should be shifted to track 2?

I think EVERYONE will find the old track pretty boring now.... in making the full track A1-compliant they've basically ruined the old track as it's pretty much challenge-less now, Track 2 will become the primary short-track and I think the CLNZ sprints will be there from now on. Hopefully the full track doesn't lose too much of its challenge.

I agree it will have stuffed the good bits of the old track. Anyone know which track the Lotus UK (?whatever?) guys have got in November ?

Think it's either the full track or the new section

What, you mean they're going to run formula 1 races there now?

weeping

I didn't realize it was going to be that bad. The speed into the southern hairpin will be eek
Never rely on a panelbeater to design an intersection.

just a bit too tight and slow was the general opinion.

I haven't driven the old circuit since they re-profiled the double apex, but found that it lost a bit of its character when they removed the negative camber from the left hander off the main straight - now its doen't appear to have much going for it at all.

Don't know that I could be bothered with events on the old circuit anymore.

I'd have to agree.....pity. The entry on to the main straight is going to one for traction & large gonads....
Not much run off for that speed.....
