Looks like I'll have to brush up on my German and view it live on RTL with my old analogue receiver. Can't moan too much as it's a freebie station.

On all the ITV stations!? Doesn't the red button work on ITV?

Exactly!

It's probably because it'll be another dull race and the championship was tied up long ago. rolleyes

Why don't they show it on ITV4 ? That channel is free, doesn't normally start broadcasting on Saturday until 6pm.

It probably isn't free, then. I'd guess they only lease the transponder for that period, or share it with another channel. Could be wrong, though. Maybe I'll look it up (or find something more useful to do...)

Maybe ITV should just realise that they can't be trusted with broadcasting this sort of stuff, and leave it to a channel that can/will?

Remember to avoid the news if you don't want to know the result before they show the replayed qualifying on Saturday afternoon. Which means avoid the news that's normally on right before it and their usual "close you eyes if you don't want to know the result" especially if the daft newsreader adds after ".....a special program celebrating Michael Schumacher's historic 8th championship win will be shown after the full race which is coming up next".

ITV ?
What are they doing ?

This morning 0830 hrs.
Shall I try to shift time,e.g. pretend its live this afternoon ?
That means NO tv/radio until then.

No, I want to listen to the radio this morning.
Conclusion, Im never going to get away with it.
Therefore I listen to the result, and am not going to sit in and watch this afternoon.
Hows that work ?

Why don't they just show quali before the race at 4 ?
Isn't the "sad losers-0898-complete this anagram-do my dole check in desperation" TV on then ?

ITV after midnight is just about as dire as it can get.
Where the flying F*** have all these begging shows come from ?
Chav TV
Victor Lewis Smith predicted this years ago, and now its here.

HAve they not got the money to send Steve Rider (I don't mind if Mark Blundell stays at home) to Japan or China then? Surely given the down-to-the-wire nature of the championship and also that fact that schumacher only has two races left they could actually have the presenters in the paddock?

I think ITV are getting bored with it. Too much money to be be made in the (quoted above) Chav TV programs.

I made it through the day to see qualifying without any spoilers. It was difficult.

I didn't. I switched the tv on as I woke up, only to have the BBC Sports reporter tell me the entire top ten! I wish they'd give a warning like they do with Football results.

I complained to both BBC and ITV last week about the spoilers they both showed online and on TV - response from both was basically "tough, some people want to know the result". Arrogant wankers.

Was Massa impeding Alonso at the begining of the last qualifying session? Hard to say.

GP.com said:

Was Massa impeding Alonso?

After qualifying in Suzuka Renault F1 boss Flavio Briatore attacked Ferrari's number two driver Felipe Massa, accusing him of blocking Fernando Alonso for a number of laps at the start of the final Q3 qualifying session. The logic behind the accusation was that rain was threatening and this might have affected Alonso's ability to set a good time later in the session and by holding up Alonso Massa was ensuring that Michael Schumacher was untroubled as he set his early times. There is no doubt that Massa was running much slower than Michael Schumacher in the first part of the session. The three cars went out together with Michael first, Massa second and Alonso third. Schumacher's first flying lap was a 1m32.729s, while Massa did a 1m34.045s and Alonso was stuck with a 1m34.084s. The next time around Michael did a 1m32.055s, Massa speeded up to record a 1m32.260s but Alonso backed off to give himself a little space and set a 1m34.802s.

"Fernando on the radio was complaining," said Briatore. "If you are fighting with McLaren it's fine. If you fight with these guys it is impossible."

The question that must now be answered is whether or not the incident should result in any penalty. It is different to the incident in Monza when their positions were reversed in that Massa was behind Alonso and Fernando was on a warming up lap rather than a flying lap. That resulted in Alonso's best three times being deleted and made life very difficult for him in the race. In this case the two were both on flying laps. There is no reason why Massa would have been that much slower than Schumacher but there are any number of possible explanations which might be true. If Massa had a problem, however, he should perhaps have moved aside and allowed Alonso to go ahead but with such minimal amounts of time involved it is hard to imagine that there will be any punishment.

Briatore clearly does not believe there will be any punishment.

"We will tell Charlie (Whiting)," he said, "but nothing will happen. We already know what the answer will be."

That remark will not go down well with the FIA.

I think any timed lap deliberately blocked needs penalising - okay, so alonso wasn't on new tyres but he wasn't on an out lap, he was on a full lap, and it was timed. SO massa slowed him down, by blocking him deliberately. Which is against the rules.

[quote]Theissen told Premiere: ''If you looked at the lap times, Felipe was fast enough, so I don't think you can really talk about blocking.

''For me it was a normal situation.

I doubt BMW would have made this comment if blocking had been taking place..
