Got the old TV of mine rigged up in the shop and we are standing by for Bathurst. At first I thought I could rig up an old coat hanger but I really needed an aerial so I popped across the road and purchased one with the intent of returning it tonight for a full re-fund.

Speedy! Lots of thrills and spills action ahead.
Can some one explain what was wrong with the “Jack Daniels” Commodore when oil was spilling out the back? I knew oil expanded as it got hot but there was a lot of oil being spilled.
That ford with the mechanical failure was scary, can you imagine just going along minding your own business and suddenly “snap” and you cannot steer?!!

I've experienced brake failure, the engine cutting out several times, the gear knob parting company from the lever, losing the sump plug and the resultant smoke filled cabin and windscreen wipers stop working in torrential rain on the motorway! Not all at once and driving different cars. Do you think I am jinxed? Lol...

Something about it coming from a catch tank wasn't it? They fill up the oil during the race the same way they fill up on petrol and water for the driver, if they put too much in during a stop it goes to a catch tank and if they haven't used as much oil as they thought and put too much in during a pitstop it'll overfill the catch tank.
I guess.
I didn't mean they fill up the oil every stop, just if they feel they need to at a planned stop, like they do with the brake pads.. If the car hasn't used up the expected ammount of oil the overfill has to go somewhere as they can't run the engine with too much oil in it.
Engines are a five Litre V8, with a dry sumped iron block. I only drive cars, I have no idea how they all work.

Jinxed? You survived all of it…
Though you may want to change mechanics!
