Has the 2006 F1 season turned out how you expected? I think we all predicted another Ferrari-Renault battle, but what about further back down the field?

For me the biggest disappointments were Honda and Williams. Honda made so much noise about their pace in pre-season testing, but still stayed where they were on the grid last year. Yes they got their first win (thumbupbounce), but the way they were talking, I expected them to be constantly challenging for the front. I've noticed they've already started making noises about a 'serious challenge for the championship' for next year... rolleyes

I didn't expect Williams to set the world on fire, but I thought they might have a podium in them at some point. Instead they were up there with Aguri and Midland for most retirements. I hope the Cosworth engine was the main source of their woes and they do better with the Toyota powerplant next year.

The biggest surprise for me was BMW-Sauber. They turned in some good results for the first year of their partnership, better than they did with Ferrari motors(scratchchin) and Kubica is going to be a front-running driver in the future.

I thought Mclaren would have been stronger! This season has been dire by their standards. They didn't even manage to get into the top 10 in quali this weekend! Hopefully that will continue next year!

Teams like Honda and Toyota continue to be a disappointment as well considering the amount of money that is thrown at them to try and make them competitive.

I also thought Mclaren would be better. Their car last year seemed blistering quick at times but just a bit over the edge - so I figured they would have reliablility under control for this year. Then I heard about the fallout with Adrian Newey (apologies for misspellings).

I thought Mark Webber would have done better. I was very impressed with Nico Rosberg. BMW's Polish driver looks impressive.

I would have like to have seen more rain during the season to mix things up and test drivers skills.

I predicted at the start of this season (when Alonso announced his departure) that Kovalinen would be World Champion next season. Wonder what odds I would have got back then.

Me? I was wronger than Mr Wrong who got up to go to work on Saturday (works Mon-Fri 9-5), who then got on the wrong train to go to Wrongville and went to the wrong office block, whilst wearing the wrong trousers.

I predicted that it would be Raikkonen's season, see.
