First of all, I really need to get off here and go to sleep. Its so god damn addictive, anyway.

I have just been mesmorised by a Maserati Gransport, specifically this:

I've always quite fancied one of those, but that picture makes it look amazing. The lack of a manual gearbox would put me off.(Not that I'm in a position to buy one, but would I be I'm sure it wouldn't put me off too much )

So off to the PH Classifieds I go, whereby I stumble across this:
www.pistonheads.com/sales/84373.htm

Now I know very little about these cars, and as they are similar to Ferraris, 51k sounds like a LOT of miles for such a car. From the pictures it looks flawless, and has a full service history. And how fecking CHEAP is it? To have that car for that price would be a dream. I can't believe it is so cheap.

And it comes with those 'boomerrang' tail-lights, that the yanks deemed were unsafe as they couldn't see them rolleyes

Now being 20, and at university at the moment, with no clue of what to do afterwards, obviously I'm not searching for one, but if someone were, would that specific car be a good buy?

Its a manual as well guys. cloud9

The car for sale isnt the car in the picture it is worth pointing out.

With these type cars it is similar to TVR ownership. How much do you have to earn to buy a £18,000 car on credit? £20,000?

There the real cost comes in is the cost in petrol, insurance, servicing, repairs.

What you have to remember is that if you are buying a £60,000 car second hand, no matter what the price it is still going to cost as much as a £60,000 car to repair and service.

For example - a year in a £20,000 TVR actually cost me £9000 in petrol, insurance, servicing, tyres and repairs as well as hire cars when it was off the road.

So the question is not if you can afford the car, it is if you can afford the upkeep as although a £20,000 salary could buy the car, how much do you have to earn to justify the running costs and payments? And even if you did earn that much would it not be a better per year investment or cost to buy new or nearly new and get a warranty?

What is happening is the law of supply and demand - the more people want a particular thing the more expensive it becomes, the less people want a particular thing the cheaper it becomes...

That location looks familiar from a few weeks ago on Megahoon! The corner of the Hotel de Paris if I'm not mistaken

It's a very normal price for a 3200. They're not good though frankly. At 30k miles they're only worth £20k and boy are they trouble.

Assuming you can avoid paying income tax.

Also, insurance for a 20 year old on one of these should be interesting.

Thanks for the replies. How do you know that the advert is not for the car in the pictures? I assume you mean the classifieds one and not the picture I posted.

I would like to know how much insurance would be too, but as I said, there could be no way for me to buy something like that. I am just considering the options for when I get a job next year or the year after.
