Whats best to go for,
do you lot think,

shortish work journeys, with frequent changes if needed

cant go wrong with Halfords classic motor oil, even comes in a green tin with a picture of a mini on it! remember dont use synthetic even if its says cars after such a year should, you engine was designed in the forties

Half-wits also offer a magnatec one called something like
'older engine oil'

nope not heard of that one tho the one i suggested is very popular amongst classic owners of all marques

How do. I recommend the Millers Trans-m, which is specially designed to work with the gearbox as well. More modern engine oils are for cars that don't share the engine oil with the gearbox.
