What’s the green car on that Vodaphone “best mates” advert? Looks a bit like an Mg but has a more circular boot.

I've wondered that myself... It's not an MG... don't see enough of it to tell for sure

Looks a bit like an Aston DB2 to me

or possibly an AC Aceca

Haven't seen it enought to tell for sure tho

Handle seems to be a latch type offset to one side.

Hmm, haven't payed that much attention to the ad but looked like an Aston to me, maybe a DB4/5?

was too rounded to be a 4 or 5, and it sure as hell wasn't a DB4GT zagato

I've only seen the ad about twice, so can't remember much detail

It does have a kind of rear and headlights (?) like the DB3 but the taillights look much more like the DB4 or MG B. It could be an oddity like a DB2/4?

Will need to get the finger hovering over the record button . . . for that Primo ad with the 3 orange Moonhoppers hehe

Proportions of the rear window?
Exhaust pipes?

It's better resolution than the typical reflection in the paint of a passing car on a CCTV B&W camera in a cash-machine . . . so maybe some home-CSI buff could find a badge on the bodywork

I thought it was a DB2/4 but having seen the AC Aceca picture I think it is one of these - the nose is more square, the Aston's is the classic Aston shape, wide at the bottom.

If I see the ad again, the rear quarterlight window profile will be the main identifying feature I guess... a clear point of difference between the DB2/DB2/4 and the Aceca.

BTW, AC Acecas are LOVELY looking cars... on my "prettiest cars" list, for sure.... along with the E-Type, DB7 and DB4GTZagato

It's definitely an aston DB2/4.

On the subject of Acecas I spotted this one at the Dunedin street race a few years back. Not sure what people here will think of it but I like it

Sorry, I think i've missed the point here. Are we assuming that the first photo on this thread is the car to be identified? or is that an answer to the original question about some ad on tv?

Original question was about the TV ad.
