Just bought my son a mini mayfair, its going to need to sit outside through the winter, and not get used much, whilst he learns to drive.

Is a cover a good idea, if so, is it worth paying for a decent one, such as cover craft?

Another question, the underside isn't waxoiled, I presume this is a good idea, but I presume the car needs to be clean and dry underneath before application. Are there companies that specialise in waxoiling cars, asked my local body shop, and they didn't want to know.

Not sure what the chaps say about this but I oil mine. Give it a blast off with a hose, jack it up to about 45 degrees and oil it (when dry)paint everything with gacky old sump oil.

My mini doesn't have a flake of rust. Also, I oil the seams and roof gutter with new oil, as well as the bit by the bumpers. I'd rather have a dirty mini than a rusty one. If I want to show it, I'll wash it or perhaps not. People prefer the dirty ones
