Lukey my chum has cluttered up my carport with his 1960 mini with no rust, it's tatty and he's decided he would be up for swapping it for a Minus as they are light, don't rust, etc. Anyone interested in the thing (with payment as a mini minus) should contact me and I'll beam you the details.

By the way, I also have a Magic Wand box and 850 engine in VVGC if anyone wants it before I make it a part of the scenery.

Don't chuck an 850 out. They are becoming very hard to find in re-buildable condition. The only exception is, if it's a 'thin-tail' crank engine with oil-fed primary gear.Parts for these are completely unobtainable, even if someone did love oil on the clutch so badly that they were prepared to use one!

Will he just sell it or does it have to be a swap?

Ol, as I said, Lukey picked it up and despite being rust free, needs a load of work to make nice. He just wants to throw an engine in it and get it going. Being Mr High performance, he was considering getting it sprinted by Mr Trickett and then got onto the idea of rust proof minuses. He has all the bits.

Bearing in mind the car was an ex-racer, anything apart from the shell is long gone and it comes with a lot of 1964 parts. Including the engine.

The other day he heaved the engine and subframe out of it with a view to reconditioning it. He then said "Hmmmmmm, I would swap it for a minus" and I said "I'll see if anyone on PH has got one". If you can get a minus, it's a goer. Not sure about a sale, although I said I'd tell you first and that still stands (offline).

The quest goes on

Knowing Lukey, it will sit there for months, perhaps even years, and then he will throw it together in a few weeks, it will be the best thing ever and he will wonder why he didn't do it 2 years ago.

Lol i tend to know what you mean, I know someone a bit like that, I see him everytime i look in the mirror, you should see my garage at the moment! Chaos!

That shell looks more like a car though now!

I can't really afford one for a couple of months anyway but I am getting hankerings for a mk1 with a sweet 1275 in it and making it in to a totally accurate italian job replica.

Mini minus looks good but the FRA is even better, if it's still being made. Mate of mine called Max used to do them from the Toy Shop in Newcastle but sold out to a guy in Co Durham somewhere. Ferryhill??
