Hi Guys

I posted recently that I'd had a bit of a bump in my 996 C2, I need to get a new bumper - but in the process I'd like to upgrade to the C4S/Turbo bumper instead - which I think will require a few more parts (grills, lights).

Is there anywhere I can source these parts and save a few quid - Germany or so, and get them shipped. The only quotes I've had so far are around the £2k for a new style bumper, and £1.2k for a straight replacement.

Otherwise, can anyone recommend any body shops that could do a good job of this (in the Essex/London area).

Thanks,

John

put porsche bumpers into an Ebay search and eventually a good one will pop up. Have one in the grage waiting to go on mine after a bump, £100 from Ebay just needs painting

Hi hoges11,

Thanks! I'm very tempted to snap that second bumper up - but I think I'd also need to buy the grills and a new set of headlights - does anyone know what other parts I'd need to buy for this bumper conversion, I don't want to forget something major and find Im short of a £600 part or something

Can I re-spray that black bumper silver without too many problems?

Thanks

John

Hi

I'm trying to obtain a list of parts I'll need for this conversion, I can't get through to the OPC - if anyone here can offer any guidance I'd greatly appreciate it.

I have a pre-facelift model, I am guessing I need to make the face lift changes to the front - before being able to fit the Turbo style bumper, but I don't know what this entails.

Thanks

John

Some views on facelifting your 3.4 996 here:

I often tussle with this one myself. The conclusion I have reached is to keep it as Porsche intended and keep my money. If it was covered by insurance, I would make the change but to facelift for the better headlights, not to any other spec.

So John, where did you get to with this - going for standard as Porsche intended or going for the surgery?
