Anyone got any advice on fitting grills into the front spoiler of a Mk2 GT3 to stop it filling ip with leaves and other rubbish. When I was cleaning it last weekend I must have pulled 100 kilo's of pish out of it so wondered if anyone has any advice.

Yup -

Another GT3 owner helped me do mine. You need to take the front PU off which involves jacking the front of the car up and unscrewing lots of fixings on the underside. When you have the PU off, it is also a good idea to VERY CAREFULLY unbolt the air con rads and remove them from the front of the coolant rads because you get tonnes of crap stuck between the two rads.

You will need some nice black plastic gauze - I can supply you with details of the guy I got mine from (PM me and I will email you back). trick then is to cut the gauze to shape and drill some small hidden holes in the PU to attach the gauze via black cable tie.

sounds complicated but actually isn't. It does help to have two people when you put it back together (one to hold the PU in place, the other to screw the first few screws in).

Jobs a goodun... keeps all the roadkill out hehe

You could try Team Parker Racing. They may have fitted them to the 996 Cup cars. They certainly have them for the 997 Cup cars, and they look like they will fit a 997GT3. www.teamparkerracing.com

Hi,

I just had my Boxster Air con serviced and was also amazed at the amount of crap between rads. I gather that OPC are now meant to check this as part of service.
Do you know if you can get grills for air vents? Its a 2003 986.
thanks Hamish

Sorry don't know part numbers. Just email Gert or even better give him a call, he speaks perfect English. He will know exactly what you mean.

Contact Steve Merritt (as he offered) if you want to only spend a few quid. I have the same mesh on my car. Works fine.

Them again some people like being ripped off by Gert etc.

Ouch! Gert usually charges less than OPC so a bit harsh Andy (although Cup brake ducts a notable exception)

If these guys don't want to listen to Steve and you and pay 375 euros plus tax plus postage instead of a tenner AND have it looking like builder's expamet then let them!

Woof woof!
