Good brakes are always an under-appreciated pleasure to use.

Query - are you aware of any reason why they seem better?
Yes, there's a weight difference, but it's not huge. Perhaps the TT's fluid was old, or the pads and rotors glazed? Maybe the pedal travel was out of adjustment? An issue with the servo?

The X50 996 TT I drove had very poor brakes too. (But compared with the "shot" PCCBs on the GT2, they were excellent)

A pair of Alcons finest 360mm stoppers are scheduled for fitting this side of Christmas.

It'll be a pleasure to know that the pressure on the brake pedal is directly proportional to the retardation of the car once they're fitted rolleyes

I rang OPC Reading on Friday and questioned the results of their inspection of the PCCBs on my car.(This after I specifically requested they carry out a thorough inspection of the discs)

They responded by saying "Take it to your local OPC and take up the issue with them, they'll take photos and send them off to Porsche GB" A definite case of "passing the buck" if ever I heard one shoot .............

It was the one up for sale at Solihull OPC - 52 plates, 8ooo miles, 1 owner, mint; buckets, roll cage, yellow belts, etc. Arctic silver.

So different to the Turbo; much more fun!

Having read your previous, I asked the OPC to have another look at them, but they are brilliant, so much better than the Turbo brakes. I was worried as they've only doen 8000 miles in four years, but they're good!

I'm jealous... Hoping to get into one in the New Year.

Wasn't it Polar Silver? which is a little more exclusive IMO.

Erm, perhaps I am lining myself up for some correction here, but are not the standard turbo (I am assuming a 996 like for like comparisson here) brakes 4 pot 330mm against the GT2 with 6 pot 350mm, the former tending to eventually begin to fade where the latter do not, and the latter biting harder when stamped on at ludicrous speed? I thought that the brakes were only the same if you are the indulgent sort that specifies PCCB/buys a Turbo S. I'd have thought that the suspension differences would make a difference to brake feel too, but I haven't had the opportunity to compare them personally.
