Has anyone tried the 10" alloy wheels currently advertised on a well known web based auction site that reputedly fit over the 8.4" disc set up?
Are they strong enough for light competition use or are they only for show?
Replies in confidence by e mail if you don't wish to put it on this site but this seems a cheaper way forward than a new "S" disc set up so there must be a catch.

those wheels look really nice, however there are problems with them. to get the to fit under 8.4" breaks they have a massive spacer which moves the wheel really far out, ive seen pictures of cars running them and the seam to be about 2" further out than they should be. this would be rubbish for a comp car as the suspension would be all over the shop.

ive thought about buying one to see if the spacer could be removed (i run proper brakes) to see if it will fit in the right place - i like the thought of running my racer on them

however (and this is a big however) im not convinced that they are ideal either in strength or weight for competition use

id rather do the job properly and buy the right brakes from the start tbh

I had a set of those wheels and sold them on... The only way to get them to work on my car would be to make the same arch cut you do for 13's. They rub big time at the front of the arch.
