It all ways seems to take an age to receive details on Zolder, you would think we would be able to book direct with the Dutch CC.

The UK club simply acts as a conduit for the cash for the Zolder entries so that every member doesn't have to pay currency conversion charges, one or two cheques rather than thirty-odd. The UK club aims to break-even on the deal.
I just act as a contact and information resource (who won't be needed if we go into the Euro).
If you have a Euro (an Euro?) bank account you could possibly go direct to the NL Club.
