It's always a worry when people mention health concerns, Lord knows what stresses these people are under just getting the damned things from one track to the next let alone actually driving ! Good luck to the fella and I hope he enjoys the peace, agreed though I'd like to see Jens the-wavey-bloke-doing-the-burnout Nybo get a job driving nitro again.

Jen's races Touring cars doesn't he?

I wonder how this leaves the team sponsorship wise? Wasn't Veidec Hakans deal?

Maybe someone like Jahnne Ahonen (sp!) might look to drive after his drive in Rune's car this year?

He might have gone round the bend but I reckon it wouldn't take much to get him back on the straight and narrow :-)

All the best Haken. You will be missed. Pitty for us fans as last season was just awesome, things were looking good but we all can guess how hard it must be at the top. Hope to see that car do more of the same this year!

Well done Andy. I am a fan of Carter Sport but it would be nice to see other drivers get some action also. It must be frustrating to see this when you can't get a drive! After saying that I am looking forward to a nail biting season in top fuel

Yes, this was quite a surprise. Lex's blog on eurodragster cast the idea of Kim Reymond being tempted back into the cockpit, but I was surprised at the speed Andy C moved to close the deal on the seat with Per and Karsten. This just goes to show how serious Andy is about using Lucas' backing to give him the best chance of winning the championship, again. When we spoke this morning he was really pumped about the whole deal, as you would expect him to be.

It's just a pity that we won't be seeing Håkan this year, as he's really cool and everybody likes him a lot.

being a northerner I would like to see Smax more but we all know he is doing well over the pond just now and we all wish him luck. Have asked him to update his web site in the past but he must be busy and all that. Also not to forget his ride over here with the McDonald's, their web site is ace. If I ever become a millionaire cloud9 I would sponsor them yes

Dont understand this, must be having a thick morning.Does this Anderson car deal work the same way as a Knut deal, or has Carter MS bought the car outright ?

Whats the difference tween the car at Autosport and this one (that I beleive he owns)?

Confused of Tring.

Fury,

The Anderson car is state of the art, hi body chassis, set-back blowers, all the latest gear when the car Andy had at Autosport is quite a dated car now. That car is an old Cory Mac McDonalds car. It has been updated after his crash but is still nowhere near the car he has now.

Overall Andys swift dealings have landed him probably the best car in the class.

the Andersson's own the car still, but Carter has been taken on as the new driver after Hakan's suprise retirement bringing with him the Lucas Oil sponsorship - as the Veidec deal was and always has been Hakan's

So it makes sence to sell the dated car and put all the effort into the best car then! But Andy says he will run em both, this will be fun and should get more folk interested once they know whats going on. Can't wait, it's going to be an exciting season if all goes well. Hope the other teams can compete on an even scale.

Hi @ll !
"Carter to run them both " ??
I do not think so, as far as I´ve understood on ED,
he takes the "old" dragster to exhibitions, shows and promotion events,
where Andy (and the car) can fulfill the needs of the thumbupLucas sponsorship thumbup deal.
This leaves the "new" car to be going to the FIA races,
and back to the smashworkshoptype inbetween.

O/T:
And, YES, I envy you for the early start of the season in GB,
here in germany the first T&T is on MZA at the end of april.....
(and grumpyonly yikes 3 races weeping altogether.......banghead )
By the way, the dutch racers from explosion are running 2 races for their
points championship @ the MZA Luckau dragstrip

Cheers,
Benni

Benni is correct the Old car will like last year for B@Q be used to promote the new Lucas Oil sponsorship and the other sponsors at Shows and events during the year.
