My dad is looking at getting a granvia/regius from japan, is it best to import one yourself or to buy one already imported?
They don't seem to be common either, are parts a problem for these cars in the UK?

About half way down the 1st page here:

As for saving money, well these days its a bit of a moot point. Everyone & his dog are importing Jap cars/parts these days, this has given rise to a big drop in UK prices. Chances are, going diy, though very satisfying, may not save you any dosh.

You may still save money not as much as you used to but there is more to it than that.

These importers are in it to make money. They go to the auctions in Japan and go for quantity rather than quality.

I know I actually went out there to buy my imprezza and an MX5 both were graded by the auction at grade 5. Grade 6 is new. IIRC

I was buying for personal use the traders were buying grade 4's and 3's. some looked ropey they didnt care. Obviously any dents or maks could be put rights by them

when I picked my cars up at southhampton quite a few people comented that they were the best ones they had seen for a while. And they see a lot.

Thing is these importers still put these lower grade cars up for teh same prices"

Why not cut out the middle man have a holiday in Japan at the same time. WIN WIN

Very true, go with a company who are over in Japan and bring it over yourself.

The importers in this country add a small fortune, looks about double.
