Hi, I usually post on the Lotus Elise pages and am not a Mini owner, but I would appreciate some advice from you guys for a friend of mine who has a 53 reg Mini Cooper S. During cold weather, when she starts the car and drives away it can be hesitant about picking up the revs and pulling away. It doesn't stall, but as I say the sensation is hesitancy. During milder weather, such as today there is no problem.
Also, does anyone know a good Mini specialist in the Bucks/Herts area as she's not so keen on her local BMW dealers £169 per hour labour rates to try and diagnose the problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

My ONE does this as well, I'm taking the "it just does that" approach.

3 common faults with these.

1,The T-map sensor after the throttle.
2,DME is running an old program-Upto 54 plate we had a fair few issues with hesitations, poor idle etc.
3,There is a crankcase breather pipe on the offside top of the engine-it is a rubber pipe and comes off of the rocker cover turns 90' and dissapears behind the inlet/intercooler.These tend to go very soft and implode when the engine revs are bought up.3 to 4 a week we do of these.
