Spent a very enjoyable day thrashing a Club Sport (not mine but will be in mine next month) round Castle Combe yesterday with a work colleague - superb.

The car is even more set up for track work than I imagined and in the wet we weren't far off the quickest thing on the track (Caterhams excluded) - even pushed a 993RS to the point where he had to pull over to let us past.......... then we spun the CS on the lap so guess he has the last laugh

Anyway, it's convinced me not to be so precious about mine, stop polishing it and treat it like it deserves!!

Next time it's viewed it may have no interior, full MO30 and be stripped like one of Iguana's bitches

Sounds fun,,,i was at brands yesterday in similar conditions, there was a guy in a white 968 CS driving very smoothly overtaking most of the others. It was a great demonstration of the ability of these fine machines.

Scottster,

I take it you were in your boss's car. Is it full M030 ? How did the brakes cope and how many laps did you do between breaks etc ? Also, what happened to the tyres ?

I'm trying to work out how many days I can afford to do.

What's happening at Castle Combe next month ?

Is that enough questions for ya ?

Al,

Yer, it was SImon's car so I was taking it 'semi-cautious', nothing more sure to get you fired than stacking the MD's car!!

The weather was peeing down all day so the wear and tear on the car was significantly reduced over a good 'dry day' thrashing.

We're going again end of June with both cars, fancy it? Be great to get all three CSs along.

Tyres weren't worn at all (but they spent most of the day skimming over the wet track, I'd imagine you'd half wear a new set in a full day? (Others who go often will know this for sure)

Brakes aren't up to MO30 yet - car was booked in with 'the man' last week but he couldn't get hold of a part so we had to go standard - brakes were 'ok', but usualy CS crap to be honest. IMO the MO30 is a must for track days - you were always concious that the brakes were the weak point and far below then capabilities of the rest of the handling.

Thought the standard brakes wouldn't really be up to it. Didn't realise A's M030 project was your guv's car.

June sounds good. What date ? Who's the organiser ? How much ?
