Ok,

Well after the weekends fun, and having now (with alot of sticky tape and glue) breathed life back into my 944's engine, although it is still in very intensive care - and does not sound very healthy + plus i seem to have more oil leaks than cylinders.

I reckon with tender driving it may have another couple of thousand miles in it - but that will be about it.

So new engine it is. I have spoken with Pro-9 in birmingham about their 944 porsche race engines and the price etc sounds right - 188bhp and strong torque curve. even some warranty on it.

Basically just looking to know if anyone else has had any dealings or better still if anyone has had one of their engines?????

I see by your post to Bigairbox that you have decided to go-ahead with the Pro-9 engine.

Is this a fully rebuilt and upgraded engine? The price sounds pretty good, what did they do to it?

and finally......will we see it at the next Bruntingthorpe?

It is a fully rebuilt engine - lightened and balanced all over the place. approx 188bhp (from a 2.5 lux engine) there are further improvement (approx another 20bhp) to be had later with new ECU's etc but they have suggested taking the stock engine and putting a thousand miles on it first.

And yep it will be out at the next brunters day, with the rest of my upgrades aswell - spending this weekend working on the brakes then it's off to the engine shop in a couple of weeks for the new lump

Apparently excellent torque delivery. from right down at 2.5k rpm

Although they are stating Max rpm to be around 5.8k, saying that look what happened when i ran my standard engine through to 6.2k at brunters

Was over revving it what caused your engine problems, or did something wear out or a gasket let go? Hopefully a rebuild will rule that out again
