Just planning my next car.. not for a year or so mind you, want to keep my supercharged Z4 for another summer.

Would be interested in hearing from anyone who has a driven or own a 330D touring M Sport or indeed coupe.

In particular, fuel consumption, ride quality, handling and power delivery. For mountain bikers, would you recommend the boot or roof bars. Boot doesn't look that big.

Other question.......
Anyone had their 330D remapped? Big difference? What about economy?
Any good reason why most of the used ones are automatic, I need a manual.
Anyone have the tow bar which folds underneath the car when not in use. I would like to use a tow bar mounted bike carrier. That way I could prob go for the coupe.

Anyone gone for fancy options like a good stereo system etc. What are the standard seats like or does the M Sport come with sports seats as standard. I had to upgrade my BMW Z4 seats since the original ones totally lacked support.

If they decide to put a manual gearbox in the 335D then I'll go for it, but I am not driving an automatic at 27

Basically it's a 2003 Supercharged 3.0 Z4. This particular charger is a vast improvement on older kits in terms off efficiency etc. It has an ESS Twin Screw charger fitted with Intercooler which generates full boost, 8psi, at just 2000rpm. That results in a peak 370BHP and 440NM torque which makes for an entertaining drive to say the least. I have the only Z4 kit in the UK the only other kit being on a 330i. See here for more details on the kit.

Hi,
Got a 330D E91 MSport Touring.
Fantastic performance when I get to drive it (wifes car). I have had everything from 318>M3 and find it the quickest 'everyday driving' car I have owned.

Dont think I will upgrade to 335D though - not really worth throwing another £15,000 into the pot to get more or less the same car. Will probably just remap it to 280Bhp / 560nm.

No, I think I explained it badly. I paid about 34K for a 330d MST about 9 months ago.

I was simply explaining that by the time my current deal 'is up' - in 12 months - bearing in mind mine will probably be worth £20,000ish, I would not pay another £15,000 for a new 335D, I would just probably keep it and remap it.

Thinking about it I did not explain any of that !

I have a current 330d Sport Touring Auto with Tow Bar and lots of toys

I had my previous E46 330d remapped by AMD to 251BHP plus a significant jump in torque, simply brilliant, the current one wil lbe going that way too soon, economy actually improves slightly too

Current Car economy on lots of mixed runs including towing a Caterham is around 34MPG, it will do around 41 on a run without trailer, the previous E46 was better at around 39 Average and 45 on a run

Sports seats are the business, std ones are a bit flat and unsupportive, ride in E91 is better than E46 despite runflats but due to stiff walls nad softer damping the car can jump across the road if you hit a bump with the a wheel under load, Steering is good with reasonable feedback, overall it's more comfortable than the previous one but doesn;t handle quite as well so less of a drivers car

Don't bother with the Lodspeaker upgrade but do buy the Harmon Kardon, I bought the loudspeaker and it's pretty poor, the HK in my Wife's Cooper S is stunning by comparison.

I would get the Xenon Lights too

Sat nav is utterly useless compared to older model, it is so slow there are times I've thought of putting a hammer through the screen! not sure what tosuggest but for the money I think I'd buy a stick on one!

Dont think the tow bar would work with a bike rack!

Thanks for the email.

With regards to the seats, are the sports seats standard on the Sport model?

Thanks for the audio tip. I have to say my Carver system in the Z4 is awesome, 2 subs,10 speakers and an amp.

You get bike racks that attach to a tow bar so they don't touch the car, like this.

Think I'd settle for roof bars to be honest, probably easier.
