How is it to drive? Does it live up to the hype? And how much are these things worth at the moment, anyway?

Looking good

I've had two of these now, and they really are huge fun to drive, and at sane speeds too. Performance wise they are about the same as the MK1 MR2 I'd say, but maybe not so neat on the handling front.

There aren't many decent UK ones left either, so look after it

Nice and rare car. Very rarely seen Not the Initial D panda colours either! I'm also curious about insurance, probably be rather high will it not?

Do any classic insurance policies allow under 21s? This could be my best bet for insuring one cheap or else I may have to go as a named driver on my Dads insurance.
There is also the rather large problem of purchasing one first. Ive found very few for sale and most are all over 4 hours drives away. Do you reckon 4K would get a reasonable AE86 or am I not even close?
Thanks for any help.

not sure if you can get classic insurane if you're under 25... but for most you have to have a main car and can only have limited milage.... It's very hard to get a gt coupe in the uk... most are now imported from japan.... there is a lot of them in Ireland, clean ones go for 6-8k 4 k will get an average one

Cheers for the help. The insurance will play the biggest role if I source a car so Ill need to do a bit of research beforehand.
