How many ways to lock yourself out...?

Try this one.
Approach car on frosty morning. Unlock with plipper. Enter. Start motor to get heater going. Get out to scrape windscreen. Carefully close door to preserve cabin heat. Realise too late centre lock light is glowing (coat elbow caught whilst starting). Congratulations, you are now denied access to your by now warm and toasty car. If like me, your house keys are on the same keyring, you're also denied access to your warm and toasty house (where your spare car keys are). I did laugh.....eventually.

....reach in through velcro side bits and pop down the arms to the roof.....and take it from there. Not happened to me but that's what came to mind

My central locking light still glows sometimes when I get out of my Chim....mind of it's own, eh ?? Don'tcha just luv 'em ?

Crashed/destroyed a Celica, borrowed a Polo, its bonnet opened on the M20 at 70mph snapping a hinge. Not a good week. I was working in London, living in Kent and needed to get the Polo back to Worcestershire. Went back to Kent late Friday night and discovered that I was locked out of the house. Had the keys to the Polo in my pocket so drove it very quietly back to Worcestershire ... arriving at 3am to be locked out of that house too. Slept in the car until 7am. Couldn't wake anyone inside. Tied two bean poles together and managed to hook a key off a table in the front hall and back through the letter box. Felt a heavy hand on my shoulder ... which gave me a sinking feeling that my recent run of good luck had just run out. Fortunately it was the postman and he didn't seem bothered by what I was doing ... i.e. breaking into a house. He just gave me some post and buggered off.

With roof up, exit car and slam door. Lock with plipper. Pay for petrol. Get back to car and try to open with plipper. Realise that door not properly shut and now won't respond to plipper, nor will it open, nor will it close properly. Swallow pride and begin attacking car, to amusement of others at filling station. Lesson (1) - always leave window open if roof on when filling up, to facilitate alternative entry. Lesson (2) - takes more force to close door if roof up than if roof down.
