Has anyone any experience of these? Not the Megs ScratchX and the like, but the ones that are advertised to "miraculously" hide the scratches by drawing colour from the surrounding paintwork.

As far as I'm concerned they're pure bunkum (at least for cars with clear-coat finish) but my wife has asked me to see if anyone on here has anything postive to comment.

They're typicall advertised in the same magazines as you see the incontinence pants and long armed contraptions for catching spiders. So they must be good, eh....?

Without sanding it is impossible to remove scratches. However with the right tools and polishes you can smooth out the clearcoat so that the scratches do not catch the light in such detail. Scratch X etc are OK but with a Porter Cable polisher and the correct chemicals the damage can be much reduced. NO ONE PRODUCT WILL DO TH JOB!
