Ford distributor

Hi, I've just had to change the distributor on my 2ltr pinto engine due to ecu problems, I've gone back to using points/condensor, the engine dates from 1985 but I've no idea what year the dizzy's from, it seems to run ok but can anyone forsee any problems ? I think I'll probably get an aftermarket electronic system when i can afford it, any recommendations?

they've come highly recommended to me via lotus elan net. They quoted me £145 to overhaul my Lotus Twin Cam distributor and fit it with electronic ignition and a coil to suit, that price includes vat and postage!! My dizzy is going in a jiffy bag over the weekend!!
