hi, as some of you know i have a little bedford rascal, recently bought but it has a problem!
It is absolutely fine at driving around town at speeds of 30-40mph, it will happily drive all day long, but when i take it on a faster road and do over 50 it will cut out after a minute and backfire, give it a minute and then it will be fine again. I don't know why this is and i'm just starting to learn all the mechanics. I'm thinking it maybe the distributer??? but can anyone help me or has anyone had this happen to them before?
cheers mat

sounds like fuel starvation to me.

Filter or blocked tank breather.

When it cuts out release the fuel cap and see if there is a vacuum or if the van then runs ok

That's the electric fuel pump, it's supposed to do that.
