Looking for a Westie for my son and I to take to track days. My son used to own a Ford engined Westie before his TVR Tamora.

We are both 6' plus so looking for a wide bodied car.

Question is......bike engine or car engine? We both have TVRs for quick road driving and will buy the Westie just for track days. Will probably get a trailer to tow with my Audi Avant and then we don't have to worry about MOTs, insurance, road tax etc etc. The thing that interests me is the sequential gearboxes on bike engined cars. However, how reliable are they for constant high speed driving on the track?

Have been looking on the Classifieds but would welcome any advice out there.

If its for trackdays have a look at the cars from the Sylva stable they handle so much better than Westies!!! I have had both marques so i can comment. Bike power is a must for Trackday use.

If you fit, then what he said ^^^^

The Sylvas/Fishers are a definite cut above Westfields in terms of handling, but they are quite a tight fit, so you'd need to try one first to make sure.
