I'm going, and I've been before. Great venue and there's generally loads of people there. It's a bit like 'Porsche in the Park' or the PCGB gathering but with a bit more of a 'down to earth' atmosphere.
I think I've been to all the past events and it's ALWAYS been a hot and sunny weekend, don't know if this is an omen but its well worth the trip.

I suppose it would mean cleaning my car, though!

Andrew reading through the link,it looks like anyone can turn up,you pay £10 on the day.reading it again it looks like £10 on the day if you are a member or not!? Huh!!

I am not a member of Tipec which I think has some 911 & Porsche world connection ? I will probably go and just pay on the day..Already a member of PCGB,,,don't want to be too Clubbie.

Looking at the map I see it's not too far from the PistonFest venue - sounds like a good excuse to check out the route Do you get to park with other Porsches or is that reserved for TIPEC members?

Was that Giles, CS???

Lots of 964 owners going, AFAIK, no membership required, all 911's will be parked together although PCGB 964 Reg Sec has negotiated separate parking, I believe.

Lots of positive feedback from others who recommend it as a family day out.

Have fun!!

Melv...no not Giles ...Jonathan an ex work colleague,,,
we went to the Ring together in our respective Porsches for the first time, after tales of bravado and witnessing air ambulances arriving his new wife was quite insistent that the car be sold fairly soon after.

They generally put all the cars into different sections, i.e. all the 911'a are together, all the 944's togetger and all the 928's together etc etc. I've heard they are having a special section for the 944 Turbo Silver Rose edition, they are hoping to get as many of the UK cars together as possible. Should be quite a sight.

Great event - loads of nice cars and perfect weather - even Derek Bell was there! Had a nice drive up there as well but the journey back was sunday drivers all the way

Met up with Paul (Clubsport) and chatted about all things Porsche

Paul - Did you manage to talk to the bloke with the 993RS?

Hi Andrew nice to catch up with you for our tour of the cars! Also good to see our other Pistonhead friend Maurice(C2S).

Not a bad stroll around,,bit nuts for for a 260 mile round trip, considering I will be back near there next week for Pistonfest.

I spent about 20 mins looking at the car with the dealer,,,the owner called me tonight and we spoke for 1/2 an hour or so...maybe we can work something out,,not over fussed I am amazed to say....think it probably makes sense to pick up a lhd toy for £10-12k less.....I am sure I will be put right on such matters next Saturday evening.

If we think your wallet can take the damage you'll be buying a Carrera GT by the end of the evening.

that sounds allright CS, wish i'd known about it sooner might have gone me'self, its only just down the road, and shame on you, 200+ miles, thats nothing, my jaunts take me in that region on a good day
BTW, what did you think to the tipec people, on the odd occasion i've bumped into PCGB en-masse, i found them a bit cliquey

Andy, Where were you parked? I was keeping an eye open for your car ( it's exactly the same as mine ) but I didn't see it.
There was a cobalt blue convertable S2 near the BBQ that looked nice, anyone on here?
Also did you see the pale blue Turbo in the Concours with the 18" 911 wheels? They are the ones I want to put on mine and now I've seen them in the flesh I'm even more tempted!! I just need to find a grand!!

Hi Andy - I think I must have seen your car as there were only about 3 cobalt blue 944s. There was a coupe and cabrio parked close together and mine was further up nearer to the 914 area. I did see that concourse turbo and inspected those wheels. Seemed to have quite a large offset with a big gap between the brake disc and wheel, which looked a little odd. Filled the arches nicely though
Are you not going to PistonFest?!
