Having decided to set the camber of the rear wheels to correct the positive camber with which the car came to us, on removing the three bolts which go into the boxed-in section of the sub frame, two of them sheared off. So it was necessary to repair that by welding in new nuts - a bit of a nuisance realy which would be a nightmare for anyone who hdidn't have a decent MIG welding kit.
The tip is to slacken each of those bolts every so often, remove each of them one-at-a-time and pump a load of oil or Waxoyl in, re-fit the bolts using copper grease - large amounts - and don't over-tighten them when re-fitting. That way you'll always be able to get the rear radius arms out for re-bushing, re-set the camber or get the entire suspension to pieces easily.
The same applies to the two bolts which hold the rear sub-frame into the car at the forward end. However, if hey do shear off, you can normally remove them by welding a nut onto the bit of bolt that sticks out from the end of the sill section, the heat from the welding usually breaks the hold of the rust.
I hope this helps.

I had a similar problem when replacing the rear sub-frame in a 1982 HL, but there wasn't enough bolt left to weld a nut to - so I ended up cutting a section out of the outer cill so I could re-affix another set of captive nuts!!! Minis - don't we love 'em?
