I know GT Purely Porsche did an article about 4 months ago and 911 & PW about 3 months ago - back issues on their websites. BTW, why a 15K difference? Let me know what they are like to drive, I'm having the same dilemma as I now go to final spec and my OPC can't get an X50 eqipped car for me to drive.

Evo magazine issue 047 of Sept 2002.
Has 575M vs Vanquish vs Murciealago vs 996 TT X50 all cars in Silver...996TT had it sewn up as a drivers car,(their words) but was a little clinical in it's delivery so the eventual winner was Murcielago...even though it cost £168K.

I have read the Evo and 911 PW articles. I think I still have both magazines at home and can dig them out and bring them to Pistonfest if anyone wants a read.

My OPC couldn't get either car for me to drive, so it had to be in for the penny.................

I haven't regretted it.

I have only driven the X50 so can't compare the two but I can tell you that the X50 is quite fast

Rude not to go the whole hog I would think...

Quite fast ? err! compared to what?

I have driven a regular Turbo and been fortunate enough to have been a passenger in a couple of X50 including Dazren's. When the boost came on I thought it was "OHHH MYYY GOOODDDD!!!!!!" fast.

Oct/Nov... ie a LONG time to wait. Just bought a Mini Cooper S to keep my mind off it.

Hey Steve, you forgot to add that you sold your R500...or am I being too presumptuous?...

Sold R500 and M3 E46

Too damn uncomfortable and too damn slow (and that just describes me!)

I tried an SV R500 for size yesterday - perfect for the "larger man" Steve - maybe you were too hasty...but I'm looking forward to your reports on the on-track performance of the 996 TT

ALL MINE!

Collect in two weeks - took the plunge for the X50!

(....it's only money!)

Drove the 420bhp turbo (tip) BTB with the 450.

Certainly the most awesome car I've driven -

Want it NOW. (Stamping foot....)

If you guys think an X50 TT is fast, you should try a GT2

I am too poor

Being on welfare is so restrictive at times.

Oh well, perhaps I'll win the lottery one day.

(Perhaps actually buying tickets would help)
