Corsa Pricing

A friend of mine has recently had some tyres fitted by one of these 'home visit' tyre companies. My M400 was at his house at the time with its rear 'slicks!!' on, and the chap reckons he can get the original Corsas 'no problem'. Anyway I'll believe that when I see it, suffice to say does any one know a sensible price (inc Vat) with / without fitting before I ask him to go ahead and try to source some. Also if anyone knows 'definately' where/when they are avaliable I would appreciate the info. Otherwise I think it will be a set of Toyos (888s)going on

I spoke to demon tweeks a couple of weeks ago and they said that they were due in

fronts £517 rears around £611 try them and let me know how you get on

I assume that's for a pair ? I think I'll stick with the Eagle F1-Aysemetrics I've just fitted at £555 for all 4.

Interesting tyre test in Autocar mag this week.

It puts the Eagle F1's at the top of the pile and slates the P Zero Rossos and Neros as rubbish in every test!!!

I think the Rossos are good, definatly better than the SO3's on road and track in wet and dry IMO. (but then the testers may have a tad more experience than me!)

This tyre is an 'R' compound (track) and is quite different from the other Pirelli tyres which also have the corsa name. I understand that Autocar were testing other Pirelli tyres and not the one on the above link. This guy (on the original thread) thinks he can supply at £230 per rear and £170 front (fitted). This is considerably more than the Toyos. Anyway I'll see what he comes back with

Had a similar decision to make recently - rather expensive for the Corsa Motorsports if you could get them, or around £610 for a complete set of Toyo R888s (delivered next day). I went for the R888s and initial impressions were pretty good. Grip and handling (in the dry) were good - for what it's worth, I didn't spin and managed pretty reasonable time round "the circuit" at the recent Car Limits day. Last time I did a similar day, ended up spinning quite a bit on (fairly worn) Corsas. Too many variables to really compare - maybe driving getting better, maybe amount of wear was a factor. Cannot comment on wet performance as not been out in the wet yet (although neither of these tyres is particularly good in the wet!). Still, for now, pretty happy with the R888s. If you go for R888s, you could do worse than speaking to Steve at SimplyTyres:

Richard, the M400 uses the Pirelli P-Zero Corsa Motorsport tyre, which, as you say, is an R compund tyre. Looking at the link you provided, the picture of 9th tyre down is indeed the tyre the M400 uses, however, I would venture to suggest that the description is incorrect, and the description of the 10th tyre down is in fact the one relating to the M400 tyre. Whenever I've enquired or bought the Corsas for the M400, I've always found that people know which tyre you are talking about if you describe them as the P-Zero Corsa "Motorsport" version......

Toyo R888s are easier to describe!!
