and yes i'm going to post in both forums to draw my own conclusions! I previously owned a Cerbera 4.5 and it was great, only pain being the small service intervals and the few times it had to go into the dealer for things between services. that cost around 2.5k to run in maintenance, i expect the porsche to be cheaper to run but i need you guys to make me see the light.

Search function!!

Not trying to be unhelpful, but this sort of topic keeps coming up and has been discussed in depth previously - quite recently actually.

Ive had 3 911's
Now on a 996 c2. for 3 years.

Never had a single problem. no service has cost more than £450. most £280.

Ive done 20+ track days in it and it always performs brilliantly. then is a joy to drive home.

Whats interesting is that although its "only" got 300hp, I have found that on a track it will swallow virtually any TVR. Ive seen so many TVRs on track and I am always amazed that despite their high power to weight ratios, they are not as quick as 911s round circuits.

BTW just did a 1500 mile roind trip to switzerland via france/germany. Also did the 3 passes in the Bernese oberland. Wouldnt have wanted to be in anything else (except a turbo).
GEt one.

Would think that Cerbie vs GT3 is fairer & more valid comparison on the 'rawness' & sporting feel, but probabally not if you need the rear seats

I guess depends what you want to use it for. Summer days in the kent countryside with your biggles hat on, i'd go the TVR. Track days and motorway miles, 996 everytime.
