I used to own an M5 new shape and sold it in favour of a Z4MR. Finding it a little small for me.
Now here id dilema. Test drove new M3, spec'd it up and it'll be £58k'ish and only a 3 month wait. I could get a nearly new M5 for that. Thoughts please?

If you sold an E60 M5 to get the Z4MR, I'd guess the M5 didn't tick enough boxes, so why go back?

I found the M5 a little too discreet, the M3 is "lairier" but the extra technology an M5 is very good. Is an M3 really worth nearly £60k?

Not when you can buy 500 BHP, with a wild sounds if the exhaust package is correct for similar money. M3's in the UK are very expensive....why not buy a CSL with a big brake kit and enjoy yourself??

CSL, set of AP's, set of coilovers and a track day or too will really satisfy the thrill.

And you will have 10-15k spare.

Saying that, I would kill for an E60 M5 at the mo.

To me no. I'd be looking at a used M6 and saving a few £'s. Although as mentioned a CSL with AP Racing brakes on the front would be a discerning option.

I've got an E60 M5 and, once you get over that slightly disappointing 'Is this car actually so competent it's rather dull?' stage, you start to really appreciate its talents.

Saying that, if you don't need the extra doors (which you obviously don't)and want 'a bit lairy' then I too would get an M6. You can get a good one for £60k now.

It's a lot more car than a specced up M3.

You must have a lot of money to chuck away buying and selling big depreciators so quickly!
