S80 Stalling problem

My Dad wants to get an S80 but was doing a little research into them and he came across a few tales of stalling and 'power reduced' messages on the dash. I believe its caused by the Electronic Throttle Module (ETM)

Anyone on here experienced this??

How common are these problems??

Are they primarily with auto's?? (Dad wants a manual)

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.
