The Scalextric team raised £420 for Scope. Thanks to all who donated.

The auctions went very well considering my terrible scheduling on Sunday afternoon. We raised well over £300 for Cancer Research from those and more for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf.

I did feel a bit guilty about not dashing back for the auction, but the sun was shining, the racing was interesting, and the tan was coming along nicely.

Maybe if you run the auction late Saturday night you might be able to prise more from the wallets of the well lubricated ... though from all accounts that might cost you personally!

Yep, we were disappointed to miss the charity auction. It was a shame the jet car was running so late, because I think that's what most people were hanging on for before coming back.

It was my fault. We moved it around a bit and the coordination with the tannoy announcements and the jet car run, didn't work well. Next year I'd like to have some events running in the PF area too to bring a focus to that area at certain times of day.

Perhaps the manufacturers bringing their cars into the middle and getting them to tell us a bit about them etc.

We did very well with the Scalextric, thanks to everyone involved, both drivers and marshalls!

To get more people into the PF enclosure how about a noisiest exhaust competition? Should be easy to run, I saw a few people with sound meters.

I think do the auction on the Saturday night next time - I missed 2/4 of the auction on sunday. Had you auctioned it all off Saturday night I probably would have spent a fortune (my wallet is beer powered)

£237.50 from the sponsorship auction for my Tuscan race car will go to Cancer Research (I think that's included in Ted's total above).

Thanks to all those who bid, and a huge thanks to Rob from Homes & Mortgages Residential and Lisa and David from IMR Limited for their support.

Also big thanks to auctioneer PetrolTed... the boy done good!

Hi v8tvr,

You and Lisa are in for a treat! Insane Racing are great fun and make you feel part of the team. The atmosphere at Oulton Park will make it a special day for you. I am sure Griff2be will do you proud; but however he does you will have a good day.

No pressure then!!

Given my lack of racing experience, if I end the season having not finished last (of the runners) in every race, I think I will be pretty happy. Podium is perhaps a bit ambitious!!

Quite right! I'll give it my best shot and after getting used to the car there is no way I will be satisfied with just pootling round.

Equally important is that you as sponsors enjoy it - and as James says, I think you will!

By the way - did you get my e mail David?
