Just grabbed a copy of “Car- October 07” today, and midway through the article on the new Macf1 it mentions that prototypes have been seen out testing with F430 bodies and Ultima bodies to disguise the prototypes!!!!!
Anyone else seen anything?
Ryan
Oh the irony of them using the 430 body for testing!Anyone else seen anything?

He-he.I have not heard anything about recent tests, but had the pleasure of meeting an engineer chap that worked on the F1 at Mac while the original Ultima tests were going. He said that the only thing they used the Ultima for was aero...nothing else. I don't know if that's right, but the guy had some credentials. He also worked for Saleen and Merc.

Given the detail on the Ultima website it seems likely that he was misinformed.http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/history/mclaren.html

Extremely unlikely that they are paying the price required by Ferrari for panels to be used on a mule. Also likely that they would want the car to look better than what would be possible with panels from an F430.
You don't pay, you just have a quiet word in the pit lane.............apparently!LuckyP said:
