Help.

Im in need of a set of 18 inch Monaro CV8 wheels for a 2006 model.

Someone nicked my wheels and I dont want to claim on the insurance until ive exhausted all options.

Please drop me a line if you know of anyone who has a full set of 4 alloys in good condition.

All help is appreciated on this one.

Getting them from Oz is not a problem, getting the seller to send them to the UK is another question

I wonder if the thief knows they'll not fit much in the UK other than Monaro's or HSV's?

Hello mate,

One of the sets in the classifieds are mine. Come with centre caps and good tyres with loads of tread left - 4+ mm.

Let me know if you are interested.

Regards,

Mark

Yeah only question is will they appear on ebay or will they go the great scrap metal heaven that is China to be melted down and made into cheap electrical goods.

Don't they come as standard?

They did on my Mar 06 CV8 anyhow, I nearly forgot to take the socket-key with me back to Greens on Saturday last weekend too...

I've got the same model as you and mine too has locking wheel nuts, I was just wondering incase they were crap and easy to get off. If they are I'll look into getting some new ones.

Does anyone know if you can get standard 05/06 CV8 alloys with 9" rims instead of the standard 8" ? I'm getting new rear tyres and I'm thinking of putting on 245 or maybe 255s. If not I'll stick with the standard wheels and put on some 245s.

Problem is the shock tower on the front wont handle much more than a 245 without rubbing.
The back is better, but there isnt much room for too much more width.
I had 245 on the stock 8" rims ok. Some guys run 255's on the back on the stock rims. That was going to be my next step.

I'm only concerned about grip at the rear as there isn't much of it since I went FI. Will I notice the difference between 235 and 245, or should I go all out and get 255? Afterall it's only a couple of centimeters.

locking wheel nuts are fairly easy to remove even without the special tool for them.
