Firstly apologies as I'm really not very good or knowledgable with wiring!

I've searched various archives on various forums but any info that is available I simply just don't understand!

Could someone please help me...in REALLY simple terms with the following (I've linked some photos below):

I'm trying to install a simple, basic Blaupunkt 2-Channel headunit into an E28 M535i

The car has four speakers and I have a factory fader unit that I'd like to use. The car previously had this by-passed in favour of a different Pioneer headunit plus a graphic equaliser...both of which I have now removed.

So currently the car just has its four speakers still in-situ and nothing else. The fader control is out and currently sitting here on my desk.

The Blaupunkt Radio/Cassette just has an output for 2-speakers and no fader control on it itself.

(To me) It's not clear which wires go on to which connectors on the fader unit. That is, which of the blade connectors on the fader control the four wires (the two sets of brown and red wires in the photo below) coming from the head-unit go on to?

And then, where do the eight wires (two for each speaker) connect on to?

Then, in the archives it says something about "grounds"...at this point I am hopelessly and utterly lost!

Sorry to be so stupid but I really don't have a mind that finds this type of thing easy to understand!

Thanks in advance for any help that can make it really easy to understand and follow.

Hopefully this will help:

The terminals on the fader relate to the diagram above in the following way:

1 = E1
2 = S1
3 = A1
4 = E2
5 = S2
6 = A2

Basically the number on the fader terminal relates to left or right channel (1 or 2).
E and A relates to front or back speaker.
S is the positive speaker feed from the head unit.

The negatives/grounds/returns from the speakers on each side connect together and go back to the speaker negative return on the head unit (for that side).

With this set up the power output to each speaker will be reduced over a two speaker set-up.
