1.8 t 20v gear box ( 02j)

Please could anyone tell me how much power these gearbox can handle.

Lots and lots! The 02j is a stronger version of the 02a - it has extra webbing around the diff as well as other minor differences. I've not heard of anyone breaking one yet and there are quite a few 300-400bhp cars out there!

Thats good to know as my mid engined polo should just over 400 next year.
