Does anyone know of an autofactors who still sells drive belts by length and width, instead of by car model?

I need a shorter belt than the standard RV8 serpentine, but every autofactor I go to will only sell me one referenced against a standard model.

Tell them the length in mm,followed by PK(thats the number of ribs)example 750PK5,this denotes its 750mm with 5 ribs width, use a length of wire/strings around the pulleys to get an approx size 1st,most decent motor factors can work with this info,if they cant then they are w*nkers.

But any motor factors should be able to get you a belt quite easily.

I sourced a Gates drive belt for my s/c from a motor factors in York. The gates website was pretty good. I have the Northern Sales managers e-mail if you're stuck and need some expert advice.

Forget the motor factors, try an engineers supplies, wyco, bsl or an indy, they ONLY work by spec, your almost certain to get a better quality item at a better price.
