Have always used Optimax in my M Coupe and could significantly notice the difference in power against normal unleaded.

Having just joined the Ferrari fold - is it worth using 98 RON petrol as opposed to normal unleaded in my F355 ? (I know Optimax is supposed to having cleaning agents too) (There were no benefit gains in my old Elise). I have tried different types but as of yet haven't noticed any difference - its just blxxdy quick all of the time !!

Thanks (and apologies if this subject has been covered before)

When I can get it, I always use Super UL in mine (Optimax or otherwise).

Optimax is the control fuel in Australia for the V8 supercars and Nations Cup grp 2, which is 360 Challenge, Porsche Cup etc etc. It is totally reliable and works well.

On the Dyno, Mobil Synergy 8000 is very marginally better, but really not much in it.

Best thing to do for little cost is fit hi-flow air filters and a sports exhaust for a little extra dough.

Filters alone can give up to a genuine 5% increase in power and torque. Better throttle response at least....dont spend big dough on exhausts without topping it up with air filters for only a small relative cost.....

If you go to www.ferrariownersclub.co.uk/members/area/northwest.asp all the info you need for the local meets is there. You've just missed the Northern Ferrari day which was a couple of weeks ago- top day apart from the weather!

I don't get chance to go to many of the local meets, but it's the Oulton Park track day on Weds next week, usually a good turn out- hope to be there...

Sorry for the thread hi-jack!
