We recently bought a Corse and it's fantastic.
Mad as a brush.

Thought I'd start a thread to have an owner's chat smile

Hi, yes there are at least another 3 that I know of – all owned by a Chris!! There is CorseChris, jimmystratos and myself – most of the chatting happens over on www.stratossupersite.com.

Good to see another one in the area though.

Cheers,
Chris

Hello! wavey

I've just bought a Hawk from a chap in Beverley. She is currently being resprayed up there. Hopefully she will be 'tootling' wink around the Barnet, Potters Bar area by the end of this month.

There's a photo of the car on my profile. Not the one on my 'home page'...just follow the 'my cars' link to the 'Hawk Lancia Stratos. There are a couple of other pics on the readers cars part of this forum too under 'show us your' a) rear. b) heart. c) internals sub heading thingies.

Aren't we the lucky ones????? hehe

Hi guys,

Yes, we have Mick's!
Loathe to post a pic on here - it's just slightly too identifiable.
Don't think anyone could call it subtle laugh
My hubby has a login on the stratossupersite and I think I should set one up too.
Can't wait to meet up with the club at events.

It's slightly frustrating to buy the car in winter and watch it sitting in the garage with a battery conditioner attached to it for months on end! We did get to go for a quick spin on a nice day over the Christmas holidays. One young guy in his hot hatch stopped halfway around a roundabout to gawp which was hilarious apart from the fact that we couldn't get past smile

I think our neighbours have got used to their windows rattling now every time we start him up. The only down side is that we have to find babysitters everytime we both want to ride in it. I can see us taking bringing the strat and an alfa to shows next year...

So you must have the Olio blue/yellow scheme on your car. I love that layout it's so distinctive. I thought about it for mine but, in the end I decided on a Red/white/Dark Grey scheme from a Polish privateer squad.

I lokk forward to meeting you all at the meets during the year. smile

I'm keeping the stradale body for now. I plan to have a think about it over the coming few months before I finally decide what , if anything I shall change.

I did decide to have the car resprayed however. For the last 3 years Roger has raced the car in the "Sports Racing and GT Challenge". The paint job he had done reflected that fact and was 'rough and ready'. As I'm gonna use the car on the road mainly I thought a more showroom like finish was needed. I am using the same firm that did the race livery.

Also, to be honest, garish red and yellow chevrons didn't quite reflect the debonair image I will be trying to convey when I get the car! biglaugh

Yes, it's the Olio livery with group 4 kit. I must say, the safari vent is a blessing, even in winter smile

We haven't got any lights at the front though, just the casings and cover. A project for next year perhaps.

I'm looking forward to seeing the different paint schemes. I know there's another olio in Wales somewhere and I really like the stormtrooper and lime green versions but I haven't seen the grey and red...

This is similar to what mine will look like (bearing in mind that mine's a stradale) but without the light pod, wording and with white alloys. smile

Did you buy the race prepared one with the mad biggrin engine from up north? The one with the fuel tank under the bonnet?

YES I DID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! woohoo

I have driven her albeit on a well tarmaced farm road....Let's just say it's a bit quick. It's also a teeny weeny bit loud. hehe

However, me being a fine upstanding member of the community will proclude me from hareing around the roads of Hertfordshire, North London and the like. No, I doubt that I shall ever get out of second gear.whistle

The fuel tank is where it is as an extra safety measure for racing. It has a larger capacity than the two side tanks of about 65 litres.

I'm like a little boy at Christmas at the moment. I cant wait to get her down here to London.

I saw the 'other' Olio Corse recently @ the NEC. The owner is a lovely guy from Wales. In fact all of the SEC members I've been in contact with are really good people. If you ever fancy a meet sometime gimme a pm !

BTW you got me thinking about the Safari scoop. I've read about the cabin air circulation problems on the Stratos forum.....methinks I should look into adding one.

Your right about the "air circulation" being an issue!. Mines a standard stradale style so the air scoops out for me - it can be a bit sticky in summer, but it's ok in winter as the heater does seem pretty good. Cue CorseChris here - he's a clever chap who's fitted aircon to his!.

Air con is definitely on my 'wish list'. However, I plan to get thru the 'summer' and see how bad it gets before I commit. (Cue 5 months of rain).

Hello Chris(W)

The Pirelli car in Kelso is a Corse (Corse I?)

The Pirelli car in your photo is an original, although I nearly mistook it for a UK based SEC club member's similar looking Hawk.

There are three Pirelli coloured replicas in the UK (two Hawks and one Corse).
