Help with valuation on my E46 M3
Discussion
Would be grateful for views on the value of my E46 M3, which is going onto PH Classifieds soon:
2002. Silver + black interior
One owner. Genuinely immaculate in all respects (including unmarked alloys), only 42,000 miles.
Full BMWSH. Next service 9,000 miles away. One year MOT.
Standard spec plus HK and third rear belt.
Never crashed, thrashed or tracked.
This car will appeal to the real enthusiast seeking a superb one owner, low mileage car, not a 'toys merchant'.
Thoughts?

19 inch wheels and SAT Nav seem to have a big impact (I'd hazard +/- 1.5k?). I'd be inclined to buy without either but both affect the market value.2002. Silver + black interior

Sure it's a nice car - well written adverts and good pics make a big difference but no doubt you have both covered.
12 months ago i bought a mint 2002 car in carbon black with black leather and only 32k on the clock for £18.5k. we're now a year later so i couldn't see you getting any more than late 17's. unless i bagged a total bargain and values have held up better than anyone's expected given arrival of the new m3.

1. even if its a minter youll be lucky to get 18k, thats only my opinion looking at whats about though. i look at the general values as i have a similar specced e46 m3.
2. you might aswell keep it - what else can you get for the money that ticks all the boxes?
1. I'll be content with £18k, so I'll probably put in on just under £19k.2. you might aswell keep it - what else can you get for the money that ticks all the boxes?
2. I normally change cars every three years, but for the last three years I've hung on to the car as nothing else offers the same value for money. I worry if I keep it any longer than six years the 'cost to change' will be huge!
Personally I don't see the 19s as being a factor. They look the nuts granted but general consensus is that the car is a better driver on the 18s and that's what's important to me. Good luck with the sale anyway. I'll be looking for an e46m3 later in the year (july/aug) so if you've still got it let me know.

Totally agree (despite haveing 19's), but in the trade, a car with them and the nav is worth more.If its manual and had its running in inspection give me a shout - I know someone who buys these at around £1k below TRUE market value (not like the usual idiot traders!) - by true I mean prevailing price of privates on autotrader of similar spec and colour (given black normally commands a premium its important re colour).
I only know because I just sold my 2003 M3 and the guy gave me a very good offer - in the end I part-ex'd it .

I will be selling mine soon. 2003, All options except the folding mirrors and rear blind. 18k miles. Carbon Black/Imola Red. FSH. Full years MOT. Will be asking circa £18k to start, but would be willing to do a fair bit of negotiating.
I'd be asking for 19.5k for a car like that - assuming full bmw service history, running in service and mint nick. petrolhead76 said:
