E36 328 ABS light - failed MOT

My E36 328 Sport Coupe has just failed it's MOT as the ABS light is not illuminating then going off when the car is started. Any ideas why this might be?

The fuse would be the first thing to check. Our e30 325i had exactly the same fault, the fuse was locted in a relay in that case, but later models have a seperate fuse in the box. They might still have a relay as well though.

Have you ever seen it work? If not, check a previous owner didn't remove the bulb. Might be a duff sensor led to it being on ....and the bulb being removed to avoid fixing it

Come to think of it I've never seen it work. Traction control button doesn't illuminate any lights either...
